Warm and cool undertone

Hi, I still get confused when colour matching a client. Suppose I match the client up with dark brown, but she has warm under tone, do I mix a warm colour with the cool brown. If someone has cool undertone do I put a warm colour on to stop the brows from changing colour. Regards
