Case Study 8: Dealing With Alopecia Universalis
I ❤️ ink on Alopecia Universalis Case
Imagine being 13 years old and you start losing your hair ..... pretty devastating right?
Now imagine at 33 after being pregnant for the very first time and losing ALL your hair for good and being diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis... another devastating blow.
Before
Alopecia universalis (AU) is a condition characterized by the complete loss of hair on the scalp and body. It is an advanced form of alopecia areata, a condition that causes round patches of hair loss.
Well, my client chose not to let it break her inside. She found the best wig company to make her feel whole again came to me to complete the look by restoring her eyebrows.
This skin is often tricky and is considered an advanced case. Due to alopecia, the skin lacks active hair follicles, is super smooth, and can be very thick and rubbery. It’s like working on an actual rubber practice pad and you have to tattoo with the right combination of needle penetration angle and hand speed to effectively puncture this skin.
AfterI absolutely love these cases and these are the women who inspire my journey and purpose as a cosmetic tattoo artist. Creating a flow with different techniques of hair strokes combined with shading gives more of a realism results versus a flat, one-dimensional look for this beauty.
The best thing that came to our industry is I ❤️ INK with its high pigment load. I now feel more confident than ever helping these women knowing that my work will stand the test of time and not turn into an unpredictable weird color down the road.
I can’t afford that to happen to my reputation and her face depends on it.
